Their story begins in August 2017, on Alyssa’s first day working at Atheneum Partners New York. Dan, having worked there for 6 months, was assigned with taking Alyssa to lunch to get to know the new hire better. They went to Nare Sushi in the building next door and had a casual lunch. Both of them had just moved into the city a couple of weeks prior.

A couple of days later, Dan saw Alyssa walking with an iced coffee in the WeWork offices and was intrigued. How did she make an iced coffee from the hot coffee machine? Dan preferred iced coffee but had been drinking the hot brew for the past 6 months. Alyssa showed him that all you have to do is pour the coffee over ice. An attraction began brewing, pun intended.

A week or so goes by, and their boss, Alejandro, invites the team over for a pre-game at his apartment. This is particularly memorable, not because this was the first time Dan & Alyssa saw each other outside of work, but because he served Tuna Pasta, which is to-date the worst pasta either of them have ever had. Alyssa and Dan started dating shortly after.

Alyssa’s lease ended after a year, and she moved in with Dan and Colton (the best man) into their tiny apartment. Then the three musketeers moved in together to a different apartment on the Upper East Side and they were able binge watch all of Game Of Thrones and quarantine together in 2020. The couple spent COVID sneaking in and out of the apartment as Colt refused to let us leave. Thankfully he sleeps like 15 hours a day.

Dan then gets an offer to work in San Francisco, where the two moved and began paying rent in 2 of the highest rent cities in the country. They lasted 8 months before Alyssa couldn’t take the hills any longer and the couple moved back to NYC and their much missed date nights at the Polo Bar. This started a whole new phase for Dan and Alyssa when along the way back to Manhattan they picked up the true love of their lives, their dog Jojo.

The three of them have been on the Upper East Side ever since. If you ever find yourself on the corner of 79th and 2nd you just might witness Alyssa and JoJo bickering on the street.

Both of them, having ties to Miami, found themselves going there often for family events, with Alyssa’s niece & nephew growing up (Hi Madeleine and Michael – you made the website!); and Dan’s sister Julia graduating from UM.

It was in Miami at the Viscaya Gardens where Dan, with the help of his future sister in law Marika, proposed to Alyssa in December 2023.

Over the years, Dan shared his love for Long Island beaches with Alyssa, mostly due to his fishing hobby (addiction?). Alyssa fell in love with summering in the Hamptons and Dan was always very easily convinced to go because the fishing is unbelievable out in Montauk.

They found themselves going back to Montauk in the off-season to catch the height of the Spring & Fall Striped Bass Runs (with varying levels of success.)

It became apparent quickly that this is where they would get married.

They visited venues in the dead of January where they found the Montauk Yacht Club, completely under renovation. It spoke to them and they decided this is where we would tie the knot.

Following the wedding, Alyssa & Dan have plans to move to Miami to start a family. And fish a whole lot more.
